The WooCommerce integration lets you sell books straight from your My Book Showroom pages. When you enable it for a book, the plugin creates a linked WooCommerce product behind the scenes and renders an add-to-cart button on the book's front-end page — with live price and stock status pulled from WooCommerce.
This is a PRO feature, and WooCommerce must be installed and active for it to work.
What you will need
- A PRO or Publisher license, activated in My Book Showroom
- WooCommerce installed and active on the same site
- A book with at least one format row that has a price
Step 1 — Confirm WooCommerce is active
Install and activate WooCommerce if you have not already. My Book Showroom only loads its WooCommerce bridge when WooCommerce is present, and the integration settings appear only when WooCommerce is active.
With WooCommerce inactive, the WooCommerce options are hidden throughout the plugin — there is nothing to configure until the WooCommerce plugin is running.
Step 2 — Enable the integration site-wide
Go to My Book Showroom → Settings → Advanced. In the WooCommerce Integration card, tick Enable WooCommerce integration.
This master switch allows books to be sold via WooCommerce. The card shows a PRO notice if your license is not PRO or Publisher; the checkbox is disabled until you upgrade.

Step 3 — Turn on Sell via WooCommerce for a book
Edit a book and open the Book Header metabox. Find the Sell via WooCommerce row and tick Enable WooCommerce add-to-cart for this book.
On the free tier this row is hidden — the toggle appears only with an active PRO license.

Step 4 — Save to create the linked product
Update the book. On save, My Book Showroom automatically creates — or links to — a WooCommerce product for this book. The product is:
- Virtual, so WooCommerce adds no shipping logic to it, and
- Hidden from the shop archive, so it never appears on your
/shop/page and
competes with your normal catalog.
The plugin also syncs details from your book to the product:
- The price is set to the lowest price across the book's active format rows.
- The SKU is set to the first ISBN-13 it finds, so barcode scanners and
point-of-sale tools (such as FooSales and Square) can look the product up.
Once a product is linked, the Sell via WooCommerce row shows its product ID for reference.
The link is idempotent. Editing and re-saving the book updates the existing product — it never creates duplicates. Re-saving also re-syncs the price and SKU from your current format rows.
Step 5 — See the add-to-cart button on the book page
View the book on the front end. Below the book details you will now see a WooCommerce block containing the price, a stock status badge (In Stock or Out of Stock), and — when the product is in stock — an add-to-cart button rendered by WooCommerce itself.

The add-to-cart section only renders when three things are all true: your license is PRO, the book has Sell via WooCommerce enabled, and a valid linked WooCommerce product exists. If any are missing, the section is skipped silently.
How it works together
The site-wide switch in Settings → Advanced allows selling via WooCommerce; the per-book Sell via WooCommerce toggle decides which titles actually sell. From there the bridge keeps each book and its WooCommerce product in step on every save, so your prices and ISBN-based SKUs stay accurate without manual upkeep.
Because all checkout, payment, and cart handling stays inside WooCommerce, you keep WooCommerce's full ecosystem — gateways, tax rules, coupons, and reporting — while My Book Showroom keeps the book page and the product perfectly in sync.
